Have you Bean Blwmed yet?
New venture in Harlech
Meet Bean & Blwm the latest addition to Harlech's High Street. Based in the old 'As Is' restaurant serving a different type of hospitality. Owners Paula & Pete were looking for a new venture and Bean & Blwm was born.
Background
Paula has a creative soul and is an artist and gardener/veg grower for a local pub. While Pete's trade is in painting & decorating with a passion for cooking. Pete really wanted to open a cafe and Paula wanted to use her gardening skills so they combined the two and Bean & Blwm was born.
After doing some market research and asking visitors and locals alike, they found a gap in the market for nice takeaway street food in the center of Harlech together with a florist as nowhere sells flowers locally.
Bean
Using local produce as much as possible, Pete is in charge of the menu and will change what's on offer to suit demand and seasonal changes. Cakes, sandwiches, and different types of street food are on offer such as ‘prawn bao buns’
Blwm
The Blwm side of the business is also growing with Paula being commissioned to make her first wedding bouquet.
After researching how flowers are grown, Paula knew she wanted to source the flowers locally and not from a flower farm. Did you know flower farms were a ‘thing’? Well, they exist and their workers are exposed to lots of pesticides and chemicals.
So Paula found a flower producer from North Wales. They grow some fantastic flowers, bursting with color and delightful smells that are sustainable.
